1409 is a 1990 Hino AK176K with locally built PMC Adelaide bodywork, it was in service at Cummins Area School for most of it's 25 year service life, before retirement and becoming a church bus for a few years in the Adelaide CBD for a short while.
It was purchased by a BPASA member in early 2024 for restoration, and joins sister bus 1432 as a former icon of rural South Australian roads.
1409 regularly attends BPASA events and is a popular attraction
